In 1994-95 I was principal investigator together with two senior faculty, Zary Segal, head of the Department of Computer and Information Science, and Dan Udovic, head of the Depart of Biology, for the purpose of crafting a proposal for the Univeristy of Oregon to be accepted into the New Media Centers consortium.

Our proposal was accepted on the second submission, and the New Media Center is now alive and well in the Riverfront Research Park adjacent to the UO campus.
